Healthcare

Healthcare for the elderly will become an increasingly important task in architecture. Because of aging of the Netherland, in 2040 there will be more than 25% of the population older than 65 years. In addition, there will be a decrease in the amount of people that get admitted to nursing houses. The necessary requirements are becoming more and more strict. This will increase the demand for senior housing.

With each design task in healthcare, it is important to be able to empathize the wishes, needs and capabilities of the user. This requires comprehensive analysis of the disease and possible treatment options.

The most important design guidelines for healthcare projects are the claribility and readability of the building / room. For every person, there must be a place where he / she feels comfortable. This can be done by varying in spaciousness, orientation, openness, and in the interior of the room.
